Built of locally quarried stone with brick quoining around the doors and small window openings, and shingles visible under the later corrugated iron roof. A face brick hotel which derives from Romanesque architecture, designed in 1903 by the prolific commercial architects, H W & F B Tompkins, and is of interest for its corner siting, the remnants of the oriel, and the gabled bays to each face.
